Kathmandu Medical College (KMC)

Kathmandu Medical College and Teaching Hospital (KMCTH) is one among best medical college located in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal Established in 1997, KMC is a private medical college in Nepal. The college is permanently affiliated to Kathmandu University and fully recognized by the Medical Council of Nepal, Sri Lankan Medical Council, General MedicalCouncil(UK) and MedicalCouncil of India. Kathmandu Medical college Teaching Hospital has also been listed in the WHO’s World Directory of Medical Schools electronic format as form June 2002. Following full recognition by NMC, KMCTH is also listed in the international Medical Education Directory (IMED).
KMC is an Associate Member of the Network Towards Unity for Health (TUFH) that has its headquarter at Glent in Belgium.Kathmandu Medical College functions from two complexes-Duwakot Basic Sciences and Sinamangal Clinical Sciences. The KMC Teaching Hospital, Located within the ring-road and just near the airport, is in a position of easy access. Prof. Dr. Chanda Karki, a renowned Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in the country, former Departmental Head of Obstetrics & Gynecology of the College and the past President of Nepal Society of obstetricians and Gynaecologist (N ESOG), is the principal.

Entrance Information for KMC

  • KMC conducts an entrance examination usually in the month of September each year. 100 objective questions 1 mark each are asked in entrance examination which lasts 2 hour.
